HGI Counseling is the leader in Collaborative Therapy. We work with our clients on what they want to work on to achieve what they want to achieve or change what they want to change. We are purely about our clients, listening, asking questions, exploring ideas and finding solutions.
Our style of therapy has seen a high rate of success, with our clients reporting that what they accomplished in therapy continues to change their lives on a more permanent basis, instead of only temporary.

HGI in the Schools
HGI Counseling was founded in 1978 by Harold A. Goolishian, Harlene Anderson, George Pulliam and Paul Dell to meet the demand for mental health professionals seeking to increase their understanding of families and their skills in systems-oriented therapy with individuals, couples, families, and groups. We are proudly a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, that serves the Greater Houston Area and surrounding locations.
To provide educational programs and continuing education for mental health professionals; to provide effective and efficient psychotherapy services; to provide program and management consultation services to businesses, organizations, and educational systems; and to provide research on the development of and approach to problems experienced by individuals, couples, families, and human systems.
Everyone deserves access to mental health support.
Our therapy services are accessible, and we don’t turn anyone away – regardless of their ability to pay. We meet clients where they are and offer bilingual, bicultural therapy services at no additional cost. We are able to do this because of the generous support of our community.
Since the onset of the global pandemic, we have seen a dramatic increase of 600 percent in the demand for our mental health services. The mental health crisis is here in our community too.
Every amount helps.
Cover the cost of a therapy session for someone in need right now:
