HGI Counseling Center has spent many years working with schools in the greater Houston area to connect children and families with our services.
Our current partners in this work include Lamar Consolidated Independent School District, AVANCE Houston, and Xavier Educational Academy. We have also had rich and rewarding partnerships with Communities in Schools, Community Youth Services, Bayou Village School, several School Districts associated with a variety of grant funded programs and opportunities. We have responded to critical incidents that have impacted school communities as well. Part of how we work is to identify which schools have students with the most need and to obtain funding necessary to provide collaborative-dialogic therapy in sessions held in the school, usually during school hours, at our offices, or even at the family’s home. Our compassionate, expert staff and counselors are equipped to address the most difficult challenges a child, even as young as elementary-ages, may face.
HGI receives funds from foundations and organizations that support our work in many of the Greater Houston and Fort Bend area schools. We are always looking for ways to expand our services, with the help of other organizations and/or partners.
