Reflective process as designed by Tom Andersen and his Tromso team invites to generate poliphony and offer therapist and clients a variety of possibilities regarding the dilemmas. Harlene Anderson (1997) talks about the client as the expert in his or her own life and the therapist as an expert in fostering opportunities for conversations. In this workshop we will present our experiences in the design of reflective processes in therapy, training and supervision, where the conversation between therapist and client leads the format and the content of the reflective process. Interviews with reflective process will illustrate a variety of practices.

Learning Objectives

  • Learn the theory and practice that guide the reflective processes
  • Analyze the concept of polyphony and its connection with not-knowing, uncertainty and creativity
  • Experiment the construction of the reflective process based on the conversation between therapist and client
  • Participate in a variety of consultations using reflective process
